Solar Leyte title card: 5kW solar system price in the Philippines, itemised. ₱232,000 to ₱330,000 for listed 5 to 5.5 kW packages with installation, from grid-tie to hybrid with a battery; parts alone from ₱83,000 for grid-tie. Philippine seller listings, 7 October 2026.

5kW Solar System Price Philippines (2026): Grid-Tie vs Hybrid, Itemised

We priced every part of a 5 kW solar system from Philippine seller listings on 7 October 2026: nine 550 W panels, the inverter, a battery, rails, clamps, cable and breakers. Parts alone come to about ₱83,000–₱142,000 for grid-tie and ₱154,000–₱221,000 for hybrid with a 5–6 kWh battery. Listed packages run ₱232,000–₱330,000. Here's the line-by-line build-up and what the gap pays for.

On 7 October 2026, the parts for a 5 kW grid-tie solar system added up to about ₱83,000 to ₱142,000 at Philippine sellers' listed prices. A 5 kW hybrid with a 5–6 kWh lithium battery came to about ₱154,000 to ₱221,000 in parts. Complete 5 to 5.5 kW packages that sellers list with installation ran ₱232,000 to ₱330,000.

Pila man gyud ang 5kW? Most "5kW solar price" pages give one number with no breakdown. This one lists every part we priced, the seller, and the date we checked, so you can see where the money goes and read any quote line by line. It's a parts and package price post. If you're still working out what size you need, start with how many solar panels do I need.

Prices checked 7 October 2026 (Philippine time) on each seller's own website. They change often. Listing a product isn't an endorsement, and Solar Leyte earns nothing from these links. None of the totals below is a MACC price or a quote.

Parts totals are rounded sums of the itemised tables below. "Per watt" divides by 4,950 W of panels for the parts build-ups (9 × 550 W) and by each package's stated size. Parts-only totals leave out labour, design, permits, delivery and some small items, so they are not what you'd pay for a finished system. More on that gap below.

What a 5 kW system is made of

A "5 kW" system usually means about 5 kW of panels (kWp) with an inverter rated near 5 kW. With today's 550 W panels, that's 9 panels, or 4,950 W. One seller's 5.0 kW package uses ten 500 W panels instead. Here's what each part does (our solar panel price guide explains how each one shows up on a quote):

  • Panels. The biggest single cost in a grid-tie system.
  • Inverter. Grid-tie (no brownout backup) or hybrid (backup once you add a battery). See grid-tie vs hybrid.
  • Battery (hybrid only). The biggest single cost in a hybrid system.
  • Mounting. Rails, clamps and roof feet. In typhoon country, don't skimp here.
  • Cable and protection. PV cable, connectors, surge protection, DC and AC isolators, breakers.
  • Labour, permits and paperwork. Not in the parts tables. Every finished system needs them.

Nine 550 W panels of the size listed below take about 23 m² of roof, panel area only (9 × 2.278 m × 1.133 m, our calculation). Your installer needs extra room for edge clearance and walkways.

What the extra buys you is backup during a BILECO or LEYECO brownout, but only once a battery is connected. We left out the Sungrow SH5.0RS hybrid (₱45,000 at LakaSolar) from the build-up because it needs a high-voltage battery, and the 48 V batteries below won't work with it. Both are 48 V-class (51.2 V) batteries that match the 48 V hybrids above. LakaSolar says the HIGEE120 is compatible with Deye hybrid inverters. Essentials (a ref, fans, LED lights and Wi-Fi) draw under 0.5 kW in our hybrid inverter guide's example, so a battery with 4.6 kWh usable covers them through a 4-hour brownout with room to spare (our calculation). Running an aircon through the night takes more. Our solar battery price guide has more listings, usable-capacity math and brownout sizing, and our aircon guide covers night-time aircon.

Stacked bar chart of the parts cost of a 5 kW solar system from Philippine seller listings on 7 October 2026. Grid-tie low ₱83,234 and high ₱141,934: nine 550 W panels ₱37,800 to ₱76,500, inverter ₱25,000 to ₱45,000, mounting ₱9,209, cable and protection ₱11,225. Hybrid low ₱154,134 and high ₱221,034: the same panels and mounting, a 48 V hybrid inverter ₱50,000 to ₱57,000, a 5 to 6 kWh LiFePO4 battery ₱42,000 to ₱63,200, cable and protection ₱15,125. Parts only, before labour, permits and delivery.

All totals are Solar Leyte calculations from the listed prices above.

What stands out:

  • In grid-tie, the panels are about half the parts cost. At the high end they're ₱76,500 of ₱141,934.
  • In hybrid, the battery and hybrid inverter together are ₱92,000 to ₱120,200, more than the panels. Going hybrid roughly doubles the parts bill for the same 5 kW of panels.
  • Mounting and protection are a small share, about ₱20,000 to ₱24,000. That's not where to cut. A cheap clamp or a missing surge protector is what fails in a typhoon or a lightning storm (solar fire safety).

₱ per W is our calculation. Inclusions are from each listing's text or package image.

The only difference ABC lists between its two hybrid packages is the battery (5.12 kWh against 10.24 kWh), and the price gap is ₱50,000. That's close to the ₱42,000 to ₱63,200 we found for a single 5–6 kWh battery on its own.

Why a package costs more than the parts. A grid-tie package at ₱232,000 to ₱250,000 is about ₱90,000 to ₱167,000 more than the grid-tie parts in our build-up (our calculation). The listings don't break that difference down. It covers the things a parts list leaves out: design, labour, the electrical permit and inspection, the net-metering paperwork, delivery, the small electrical items, warranty handling, and the seller's margin. Don't treat our parts total as the "real price". Use it to check that a quote's equipment line looks sensible.

Two things to ask a Cebu or Luzon seller. Does "free installation" cover Leyte or Biliran, and who pays the freight and the team's travel? And who handles a warranty claim in Eastern Visayas if the inverter fails in year three?

Paperwork that adds to the price

  • Net metering. To get credit for daytime exports you apply with your co-op. The steps, documents and fees are in our BILECO net metering guide and LEYECO II net metering guide.
  • Zero export. Since August 2026, DOE Department Circular DC2026-08-0017 lets households run zero-export systems without an ERC certificate of compliance, but you still need a building permit and must notify the co-op. Exported power earns nothing (plug-and-play and zero-export rules).
  • Ask whether the quote includes these, along with the electrical permit and inspection. It's one of the questions on our quote checklist.

What a 5 kW system saves at BILECO and LEYECO rates

Using the same planning number as our panel sizing guide, each kWp makes about 105 kWh a month in Leyte and Biliran. So 4.95 kWp makes about 520 kWh a month (our estimate). ABC's 5.0 kW listing estimates 620 kWh a month. Ours is lower because we derate for shade, heat, dust and cloudy months.

If you used every kWh at home, here's what 520 kWh would be worth at September 2026 rates (519.75 kWh × rate, our calculation):

At BILECO with half exported at a ₱9.50 per kWh credit, about ₱7,388 a month.
Value of 520 kWh a month at Sep 2026 rates. Sources: Solar Leyte rate trackers (PRESYO-PH and co-op rate posts); Solar Leyte calculation.

Most homes don't use it all at home. A grid-tie system exports what you don't use, and under net metering exports earn a lower credit. At BILECO, with half used at home and half exported at about ₱9.50/kWh (PRESYO-PH's September 2026 blended generation rate), the 5 kW system is worth about ₱7,388 a month, or ₱88,659 a year (259.875 × ₱18.93 + 259.875 × ₱9.50, our calculation). Against the two grid-tie packages above (₱232,000 to ₱250,000), that's a simple payback of about 2.6 to 2.8 years, if rates hold. They might not: BILECO was ₱12.9458/kWh in May 2026. Our is solar worth it post runs the payback at lower rates, for evening-heavy homes, and for hybrids.

For a typical home, what does 520 kWh a month cover? Two 1 HP inverter aircons at 8 hours a day use about 226 kWh a month (113 kWh each, Midea's estimate in our aircon guide). A fridge, fans, TV, rice cooker, lights and Wi-Fi come to about 101 kWh (appliance kWh guide). Check your own bill: a 5 kW system fits homes using roughly 450 to 550 kWh a month.

How to compare two 5kW quotes

  • Same size? Compare total panel watts (kWp), not "5 kW" on the cover page. Nine 550 W panels (4.95 kWp) and ten 500 W panels (5.0 kWp) are close; ten 550 W (5.5 kWp) is 11% more.
  • Brand and exact model for the panels, inverter and battery, with datasheets.
  • Battery in usable kWh, not just the label, and its warranty in years and cycles.
  • Mounting: rail brand, how many roof attachments, and how they're fixed for typhoon winds.
  • Protection: DC and AC surge protection, isolators, breakers and grounding listed as line items.
  • What's included: installation, freight to your town, the electrical permit, net-metering application, monitoring.
  • Warranties: product warranties from the makers, plus the installer's workmanship warranty, and who to call in Eastern Visayas.
  • Production estimate: ask how many kWh a month they expect at your address, and what sun figure they used.

FAQ

How much is a 5kW solar system in the Philippines? On 7 October 2026, the parts for a 5 kW grid-tie system came to about ₱83,000 to ₱142,000 at Philippine sellers' listed prices. Complete grid-tie packages with installation were listed at ₱232,000 to ₱250,000. A 5.5 kW hybrid package with a 5.12 kWh battery was ₱280,000.

How much is a 5kW hybrid solar system with battery? In parts, about ₱154,000 to ₱221,000 with a 5–6 kWh LiFePO4 battery. One Cebu seller listed 5.5 kW hybrid packages at ₱280,000 (5.12 kWh battery) and ₱330,000 (10.24 kWh battery), installation included per the listing.

How many panels are in a 5kW system? Nine 550 W panels make 4.95 kWp. Some packages use ten 500 W panels (5.0 kWp). See how many solar panels do I need to size from your bill.

How many kWh does a 5kW solar system produce? About 520 kWh a month in Leyte and Biliran using our conservative 105 kWh per kWp. Shade, roof direction and weather change that.

Why is a package so much more than the parts? Packages include labour, design, permits, delivery, small electrical items, warranty support and margin. Those don't show up in parts prices.

Is a 5kW system enough for 2 aircons? Often, yes. Two 1 HP inverter aircons at 8 hours a day use about 226 kWh a month, and the rest of a typical home about 100 kWh. A 5 kW system making about 520 kWh covers that with room to spare. Running them at night in a brownout needs a battery.
